Manipal Cure and Care wins the Most Admired Retailer of the Year - Innovative Retail Concept, 2008

Manipal Cure and Care (MCC) has won the prestigious award for the Most Admired Retailer of the year-Innovative Retail Concept, 2008 at India Retail Forum (IRF) for its contribution in providing innovative solution for qualitative monitoring of healthcare and wellness. This award was given to MCC for its unique concept of integrated centers, which offer a mix of world-class products and services in preventive, wellness and beauty care. MCC is the first in India to provide qualitative monitoring of healthcare driven by well-trained doctors and paramedical staff. They offer healthcare services that are customized based on each individual's lifestyle and family medical history.

The award was presented by Dr Nicola Evoli Grottini, CIO, Strategy- International Sales and Kerrie Hales, Campbellrigg to Manipal Care and Cure's Chief Operating Officer Mr. Somnath Das on 18th of September 2008 in Mumbai.

In any emerging market, the challenge lies in customer shopping experience & perception about the brand. Innovation stands as the key driver in challenging markets, which grabs customers attention, who ultimately decides on success of any business model said Mr. Somnath Das while receiving the award.

The Award for the Most Admired Retailer of the year-Innovative Retail Concept-2008 was decided by an eminent Jury consisting of Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, Mr. Shivjeet Khullar, Mr. Anuj Puri and Ms. Ireena Vittal. Other nominations in the category of Innovative Retail concept were; Urban Yoga - Indus League, PVR Premier, Mc Donald's MFY-Made For You, Spencer's Live Kitchen, Depot Self Publishing.

Ltd (MCC) plans to set up a so-called wellness chain that will have consulting doctors who focus on preventive health care.   Somnath Das, chief operating officer, MCC, said the company plans to hire doctors with four-five years’ experience to advise customers. “We are not going to operate as a hospital. We are not treating patients. We will offer health check-ups and advice, health-care products and beauty treatments under one roof. Manipal Cure and Care to Launch in Mumbai in May

Manipal Cure and Care [MCC], India's first health and wellness centre, today announced its plans to launch its operations in Mumbai in May with the launch of its first two centres in the city. Dr Ranjan Pai, CEO, Manipal Education and Medical Group, and Somnath Das , COO, Manipal Cure and Care also received today the ACHSI (Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International) certificate from Brian Johnston CEO, ACHSI, in the presence of Giridhar Gyani, Secretary General, Quality Council of India. MCC is the first retail healthcare company in India to receive the ACHSI certification. ACHSI granted certification to MCC after a team of 2 surveyors did the pre-audit, followed by a team of surveyors who accessed 13 standards with 45 criteria covering clinical, support and corporate areas.
